The hope of all the governorship aspirants from Edo Central Senatorial District has been dashed as the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Anselm Ojezua has allegedly appealed to Governor Oshiomhole to settle the Esan people with the deputy governorship slot.
The disclosure was made at a meeting called at the instance of the governor which was centered on the recent outcry of marginalization by the Esan people by the Oshiomhole led government.
The Governor according to reports at the meeting bluntly told the Edo central leaders that all the aspirants from the senatorial zone should bury their governorship ambition.
The governor was also quoted to have denied the outcry of marginalization of the zone by his government adding that his children are also from Esan land. He said his government has spread development round the three senatorial Districts.
Reports say: that after three hours of heated deliberation on critical issues affecting the Esan people, the governor denied having a hand in the impeachment of former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Edoror.
At the end of the meeting, Barrister Anselm Ojezua was said to have appealed to the governor to settle the Esan people with Deputy Governorship position.
In a swift response to the chairman’s request, the governor was quoted to have told the Esan leaders that he has no influence over the Deputy Governorship issue as the party leaders and the candidate will decide that.
