Crisis rocking the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC worsened on Tuesday following the suspension order slammed on some of the state party leaders while others who were previously suspended had their suspension ratified.
The party suspended about 30 state leaders including ward chairmen and secretaries over alleged offenses. The State working Committee of the party had amongst others in an emergency meeting ratified the expulsion and suspension of the State party youth leader, Mr. Osakpamwan Eriyo and others.
The newly suspended are Chief Francis Inegbeneki, Chief Henry Okoror, vice chairman of the party, Edo Centra,l Kenneth Ihensekhien, Mr Henry Ukpamen, Anthony Ibhafidon, and Desmond Egbadon, over alleged illegal detention and holding hostage of the State Chairman, Mr. Anslem Ojezua at the ancestral home of the vice chairman.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that a committee headed by the State Secretary of the party, Chief Osaro Idah has been constituted to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident and to submit reports within one month.
The committee was also mandated to examine all pending issues from the local government chapters in relation to the last governorship election and make appropriate recommendations.
