Alleged Account Tampering: Bishop Ochei Opens Case Against UBA

Bishop Osadolor Ochei has opened his case of alleged unauthorised tempering with his bank account levelled against the defendant, United Bank of Africa (UBA).
The plaintiff opened his case in absinthial of the defendant UBA, before an Oredo Magistrate court 4, sitting in Benin City, Edo State.
Ochei in his–evidence-chief before the court averred that since the inception of obtaining his UBA Automated Teller Machine Card (ATM) sometimes in February 2016 has been getting several discrepancies records in his saving account with the defendant.
According to the Human Right Activist, he was in court haven’t discovered unauthorised withdrawals allegedly made by UBA.
Bishop Ochei added that precisely on 22 July 2016, he was having N47,000 in his account and used his ATM card which he claimed was forced on him by the defendant to withdraw N30,000 in two batches of N20,000 and N10,000 respectively.
He said on August 1, he attempted to withdraw N15, 000 out of my balance 17,000, the defendant did not pay him but rather debited him, adding that the defendant later admitted to be at fault and refunded the money debited to his account.
The claimant in his statement of claims prayed the court to award him N2, 000, 000, 00, as damage for an alleged defamation, N200, 000, 00 being the cost for instituting the action as well as N32, 592, 65 being the sum that is said to be missing from the plaintiff’s Savings Account with the defendant, respectively
However, the presiding Magistrate, Mr. Nosa Musoe adjourned the case to June 20, 2017 for further hearing, after admitting documents from the claimant in evidence and marked them as exhibits.
