Police Refunds N100,000 Bail Money

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State, Mr. Johnson Babatunde Kokumo has demonstrated again that he is a man of integrity and honour who hates extortion and human rights violation, as he ordered the refund of the #100,000 collected from a marketer of Peak Milk as bail money by some Police Officers attached to the state police command.
It should be noted that on the 6th day of September, 2018, we reported a matter to the ComPol of how some Police officers in his Command extorted #100,000 from a poor marketer of Peak Milk who came from Sapele to Benin to see his girl friend.
The Compol was so exasperated with the action of the Police Officers that after investigation, he ordered that the money be refunded to the young man and the officers involved detained.
We want to commend the Commissioner of Police for his love for truth, justice and human rights of all, irrespective of status.
Since his inception as Edo State Commissioner of Police, our fight to liberate the plebeians from the iron grip of oppression and injustice has been so easy because of the Welfaristic philosophy of the Compol.
There is sanity in the Command and Divisions and crime has reduced in the state drastically.
We want to appeal to the public to always report any form of human rights violation to our office.
