Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has called on Edo football fans including Bendel Insurance supporters Club to rally round Edo Queens as they clash with Ibom Angels in the Semifinals of the ongoing Federation Cup on Wednesday.
Speaking on the performance of the Benin girls so far in the Federation Cup, Comrade Shaibu said that the girls deserve more morale support to do better.
The deputy Governor who praised the girls’ commitment in the tournament, described them as worthy ambassadors of Edo State and called for fans intimidating support for them on Wednesday in Owerri.
“There is need for all
our fans, including Bendel Insurance supporters Club members to be in Owerri on Wednesday in jersey colours to cheer Our girls to victory. They represent us and therefore deserve our support now that they target final place in the competition “.He stressed.
The deputy also directed that vehicles be made available to take supporters to Owerri for the match.
The Edo Queens dumped out Confluence Queens of Kogi state after 1-0 win in the Quarterfinals to set up the Semifinal clash with Ibom Angels, having defeated FC Robo of Lagos and two draws to lead their Calabar zone group.
