No fewer than 13 suspects have been apprehended by the police in Edo state in connection with the gruesome murder of four police officers at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Afuze in Owan East local government area state.
Edo State Commissioner of Police, Dan Malam Mohammed disclosed this while giving an update on the unfortunate incident which occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
He further revealed that tactical teams which he set up to arrest the killers were still on the trail of the remaining fleeing suspects.
“We have arrested 13 suspects, majority of them confessed to have participated in the crime,” CP Mohammed said.
The state police boss who expressed grave worries over records of violent criminal activities in and around Owan axis of the state, however vowed to fish out all criminal elements in the area.
He further disclosed that police operatives, the military, DSS and others who are the trail of the corps killers will remain there until the hoodlums are smoked out.
Recall that gunmen had on Tuesday last week attacked the divisional police headquarters at Afuze, killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and three others including a pregnant Office Sergeant.
