As the AFCON Nations Cup Soccer Carnival billed to hold in Egypt in June, this year draws nearer, a prominent football enthusiast, the Enogie of Obagie N’Ebvuosa in Ikpoba-Okha local government council area of Edo state, His Royal Highness Stephen Usiomwanta Imadonmwinyi has advised the technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Coach Gernot Rohr to have a perfect standing team that can stand the test of time at every given match situation.
The sports loving Enogie in a chat with The Reliance sports desk shortly after the draws for the AFCON Nations Cup Soccer Carnival was held in Cairo, Egypt called on the Super Eagles handler to take a clue from other growing Football Nations.
According to the Royal Father, Stephen Usiomwanta Imadonmwinyi, “all these bigger Football nations have their standing team and the starting eleven and the reserved bench ready before any match and the ardent Football lovers in those country are always very conversant with the usual line up.
“But in our case, we always wake up to see new line up in every different match, how can we continue like this? I remember during the days of Coach Clemence Westerhof; every Nigerian Soccer fan was abreast with the usual lineup.
“Coach Westerhof will feature and Coach Adegboyega Onigbinde did the same thing in 1984 and the team did very well at the Nations Cup and World Cup respectively in USA, Japan and Korea.
“Nigeria has most of the best sets of players in every club around the world and all Gernot Rohr should focus on now is to come up with the best among all these bulk of players,” the Enogie stated.
The Nigeria Super Eagles are drawn with Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in the opening group of the matches.
