The Criminal Division of the High Court of Justice in Benin, last week granted the prayer of the Nigeria Police to remand two men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the prison custody.
In a suit filed by the Police Prosecution Counsel, Barr Frank Ogumba with the suit number B/C06/660m/u, the suspects MessrsOnotu Joseph and Francis Igboh were arrested and charged on the charges of conspiracy and murder, an act that is punishable under section 319(1) of the criminal code cap 48, Vol. ll laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976 now applicable in Edo State.
The suspects were alleged to have attacked a passenger who was said to have obstructed a booking of a taxi driver along the Owa Hill area in Evbuobanosa, near Benin City.
It was gathered that the two suspects chased the victim, MrOdion Samuel Amafo (38) into the deep of a bush and allegedly killed him and abandoning his remains there.
The case has been adjourned to the 12th day of November for hearing.
