Alleged homosexuality stigmatization has forced a young lady, Miss Sandra Ejibas, to commit suicide in Etete GRA Benin City.
Residents of Etete quarters in the GRA area of Benin City were allegedly thrown into mourning on December 15th 2019, when a young lady in her mid thirties decided to take her life in order to end the stigmatization of been taunted as a lesbian.
Sandra Ejibas was found dead in her apartment after allegedly committing suicide.
It was learnt that the young lady took her life to permanently put an end to the ridicule of being homosexual by members of her immediate family and friends.
Investigations revealed that a relative of Sandra, simply identified as Blessing, late November, 2019 stumbled upon text messages she was exchanging with her lover who happened to be a female.
Blessing was said to have promptly reported the content of the text messages to Sandra’s Parents who swiftly swung into action to unravel the authenticity of the claim which was soon confirmed affirmative.
Sandra’s father, Jacob Ejibas confronted her with regards to the content of the text message found on her phone, she accepted being a bisexual and confirmed to him that she was in love and having an intimate relationship with one Miss Justina.
A source close to the family told our Correspondent on the condition of anonymity that “Sandra didn’t tell her father that she was bisexual, a friend of hers came to their home to tell him.
“When the father confronted her with the allegation, she admitted it, which left her father heart broken being a Christian Leader in one of the local branch of Jesus Reigneth Bible Church in Lagos.
The aggrieved father openly chastised her daughter for going against the Christian doctrines she had learnt from childhood.
The angry father therefore threatened to exposed her illicit deed to the entire church members the following Sunday.
This was not to be as Sandra was found dead in her room with a suicide note, alleging that she decided to take her own life in order to prevent the public disgrace her father was planning to give in church.
She named her partner in the homosexuality act as simply “Miss Justina”.
“An empty bottle of the deadly poisonous substance was found beside her dead body”, a source told our Crime Correspondent.
It was further learnt that the parents of the late Sandra, promptly reported the matter at nearby police station in Lagos, following which arrest warrant has been issued against Miss Justina by the police.
But the police were yet to apprehend the said Miss Justina, as at the time of fillng this report.
