Life And Times Of The ‘Jesus Woman’: Apst. Eunice Debrah Gordon-Osagiede

It was the songs writer that said there is time for everything.  A time to be born, and a time to die; there is time for the sun to rise and time to set; for Apostle Eunice Debrah Gordon-Osagiede, General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church and President, Godhead Prayer Ministry, it’s sun set.

Apostle Eunice Gordon-Osagiede, came to this mother Earth about 63 years ago and answered the call to return to her Maker on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Popularly known as “Jesus Woman” because of her headship of the Jesus Women Prayer Band which brought her to limelight in the early 90s, and since then, she soared like the great Eagle doing exploits in Christiandom.

Little wonders why her passing touched both the Christians and non-Christians alike, irrespective of their status and religious affiliations.

Though the cause of her death is still sketchy, but family sources confirmed that she died after a brief illness.

Apostle Debrah Eunice Gordon-Osagiede, was born to Selby Uduehi and Lucy Uduehi in January 1958 and hails from Eko-Ewu in Esan Central Edo State.

She was a mother of seven, six sons (three adopted sons), a precious Daughter and granddaughter.

 She had a Masters degree in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Lagos and a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Benin.

Apostle Eunice Gordon-Osagiede was  a pioneer crusader against sex-trade, prostitution, sexual perversion and pre-marital sex.

She was the General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church (Worldwide) – a global Church with locations in five continents of the world with over 500 Pastoral Team, comprising of over 50 nations of the world and President of  Godhead Prayer Ministry International Worldwide. A global Interdenominational family which is focused on prayer ministration.

But Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, who expressed shock over the death of Apostle Eunice Osagiede, in a statement, mourned the passing of the preacher, noting that she is ‘simply’ irreplaceable.

According to the Governor, “It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the death of the General Overseer of Spirit and Life Bible Church, Apostle Deb’rah Eunice Osagiede.

“I am shocked, sad and extremely pained at the passing of this true Jesus woman, who was one of the shining lights of Edo and a great achiever. She is simply irreplaceable.

“I remember with fondness the spiritual charge she gave in her sermon during my inauguration thanksgiving service.

“Indeed, we are blessed by the opportunity to have known and associated with her.”

The governor stressed that she left remarkable legacies with her work in the vineyard of the Lord and would continue to serve as an example to many striving to know God more intimately.

He condoled with her immediate family, the leadership of the Spirit and Life Bible Church and Jesus Women Prayer Band Ministry as well as the entire body of Christ, praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

In his reaction, National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, described the death of the General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church, Apostle Eunice Gordon-Osagiede as sudden and shocking.

Omobude said Apostle Eunice Gordon-Osagiede served God without blemish and will be greatly missed by the church.

“It was a sudden departure. She was a very dedicated worker in the vineyard. She did so much for the advancement of the kingdom of God on earth”, Dr. Omobude posited.

He condoned with her biological and spiritual families, admonishing them to continue the heavenly race without fainting.

Also, the senator representing Edo South Senatorial District,  Matthew Urhoghide, like several people across the world, said he received the news of the passing on to glory of the founder of the Spirit and Life Family Bible Church Worldwide with great shock and sadness albeit, with gratitude to the Good Lord for the life of service to Him in His glorious Vineyard that it pleased Him to grant her as she sojourned here on earth.

“On behalf of myself, my family and the good people of Edo South Senatorial District, I condole with the nucleus and immediate families of the loved and lost, the Spirit and Life Family Bible Church Community and the entire Body of Christ for this great loss to earth and gain to Heaven”, Senator Urhoghide added.

Good night, Apostle Eunice Debrah Gordon-Osagiede. May your soul find rest in the bosom of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
