Christians have been urged to always imbibe the spirit of turning their discouragements and disappointments into encouragement.
The Rev. Prophet Dr. S. V. O Okpere (JP), gave the charge, penultimate week at the Triumphant Centre For All Nations, headquarters of Deliverance Holy Mission International Incorporated, Benin City.
Addressing a large congregation of christians during the annual two days national convention of women of the church, the presiding Bishop of the church, enjoined them to be steadfast in the things of God.
The Spiritual Leader of DHM, admonished believers in Christ Jesus to always avoid any habits that can make them to be easily discouraged while serving God and humanity.
“Instead of lamenting negative situations, the christians should learn to follow the partway of our Lord Jesus Christ, who despised the joy that was set before Him and endured the cross”, he said.
Prophet Okpere, noted that no discouraged servant can be able to please his master and receive his blessings, saying that the christians should be bold like the Lion, always facing challenges courageously with faith in God.
He referenced the biblical David who despite all the odds against him, surmounted his problems and difficulties, turning them to success, so much so that God referred to him as a man after His own heart.
“This was so because David does what was pleasing to God even at his challenging seasons,” Prophet Sunday Okpere, stated.
Quoting copiously from the Bible books of 1st Samuel 30:1-8, 2nd Corinthians 12:1-10,
Hebrews 10:35-38, the gentle and anointed man of God, stated that when David observed his friends had turned against him to the extent of planning to stone him to death, he looked unto God, for the best way to go.
“He found solutions in the hands of God. If a man’s ways pleased God, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him,” Prophet Okpere added.
He admonished the congregants to always looks at the Holy Bible in the time of challenges to know what is the mind of God concerning their situations, rather than what is happening at that season which is in a passing phase.
“Persecutions or tribulations that comes our way could be a good season for our promotions, if we don’t loose focus and faith in our almighty God,” the highly sought after Prophet, posited.
Highlights of the services were special fervently prayers offered to God for the security, peace and prosperity of Nigeria, particularly Edo State and a Special Thanksgiving by Women of the church, led by the Mama of the house, Rev. Mother Ebuwa Okpere for the huge successes recorded during the annual convention.
