Ahead of the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), holding in Abuja between October 30 and October 31, this year, the Edo State branch of the party, has put it’s weight behind the aspiration of Mr. Timothy Osadolor, as Deputy National Youth Chairman.
Recall that the aforesaid position has been zoned to Edo State.
State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, made the disclosure during a Press briefing on Tuesday in Benin City, said Mr. Timothy Osadolor is Edo State choice for the position of the Deputy National Youth Chairman.
Nehikhare, also appealed to Nigerians to continue to massively support the PDP to enable it wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), come 2023 presidential election.
He expressed disappointment with the APC-led government of President Buhari for been unable to fulfill most of its electoral promises before 2015 General elections especially in areas of security, affordable healthcare, Education, decayed infrastructure and pariah state of the economy.
According to State publicity secretary, “the present government in the last six years, all the indices of governance have being negative. The security is worst off. When they took over in 2015, there was insecurity in one region of the Country, but in 2021, there is insecurity in all States and regions of the Country.
“There is no peace. The healthcare and security have collapsed. Education is collapsing and Nigerians should all come and join PDP to rescue this Country from the grip of President Buhari. He (Buhari) is not contesting again. For the first time since 2015, we would be having two fresh Candidates from the two major political parties in Nigeria
“This is the first time President Buhari will not appear on the ballot of any political party. And I think that Nigeria will heave a sigh of relief. Any party that he belongs to carries the same baggage that he is carrying. Nigerians have to reject that political party.
“Nigerians had expected a lot from the APC government, but all the expectations have ended in unfulfilled promises.
He nonetheless assured that with the crop of great leaders expected be elected at the National Convention of the party, noting that Nigerians will be happy with them as they prepare the pathway for repositioning the nation on the path of sustainable development.
Mr. Chris Nehikhare, further dismissed claims that the party in the State was in disarray ahead of the forthcoming convention of the party.
“Our concentration today is for the politics of Nigeria. We are trying to save Nigeria from the bad governance that was imposed on us by the APC government.
“So far so good, we have all our elected delegates and the statutory delegates to go and have what we call the most peaceful election.
