In our October 16, 2019 edition, we reported a chilling story of a family being seriously threatened by the Ogboni secret cult, over refusal to be part of the group.
A mother of three, Mrs. Gloria Udeh Ekundayo, has been engaged in a running battle with the group members who have insisted that she must be their member because she is the one that gave birth to the first grandchild of her father-in-law, a system they claimed was the tradition of their occultic group.
According to investigations, Mrs.Ekundayo being a practicing Christian and hater of secret cult groups, stoutly resisted them and ever since, her life and that of her family have never remained the same.
Our correspondent who has been following up on the matter, gathered that the secret cult members have made their lives unbearable, a situation that forced her to relocate with her three children to an unknown destination.
A family source who wouldn’t want his name mentioned for fear of the unknown, disclosed that the deadly cult members have threatened that if “my sister (Mrs. Gloria Ekundayo), continue to refuse to join them, they (Cultists) will eliminate her, her children and her husband”.
“As a warning and to show their level of seriousness with their demands, they on several occasions had molested and beaten my sister’s husband, inflicting bodily and life-threatening injuries on him.
“On a number of times, he was hospitalized and when the matter was reported to the authorities, the police said they were investigating, and up till this moment, no arrest has been made even though the cultists are not hiding or hard to find.
“Unfortunately, the worst happened when it was reported that unknown to Mr. Henry that the cult group members had placed him under watch, when he attempted to escape it became a fatal error, as he was beaten blue and black.
“They left him for dead but some of us took the risk to rush him to a nearby hospital where he was admitted. He later died on the 4th of April 2022.
“As if that was not enough, the Ogboni people went to his house and razed it to the ground, warning that a similar fate awaits his wife, anytime she’s found or seen.
“Can you imagine, after wasting the life of that young man, they are still threatening to kill his wife and the innocent children wherever or whenever they are seen or found?”
As to the reason law enforcement agencies are not stepping into the matter, he claimed that the Ogboni people “are highly connected, they are above the law, they are untouchable, they get what they want and nobody dare stand in their way. They are well organized and they are everywhere. They operate with impunity. They are highly deadly.
“My worries now is the whereabouts of my sister and her children. I don’t know where they are or where to reach them because I don’t want them to come back here so as to avoid the fate that befell my sister’s husband,” the source posited.
