The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Senator (Pharm.) Matthew A. Urhoghide (FPSN, FNAPharm.), Chairman, Senate Public Accounts Committee, has expressed sadness over the passing to the great beyond of His Royal Highness Prince Edun Agharese Akenzua, the Duke of Obazuwa Dukedom.
Urhoghide, in a condolence message on behalf of his family and the good people of Edo South Senatorial District, with deep sadness condole with the immediate family, the Benin Royal Family and the entire Benin Nation on the passing to the Great Beyond of Prince Akenzua.
According to the popular Senator, “the Benin Nation has lost a great son whose huge shoes will be difficult to fill. We will miss his wisdom, fearlessness, erudition, peace-loving mien, truthfulness and all those several other things that made him stand out amongst humans. We could not have been prouder of a son than our nation is of him.
“I am happy that I had the good fortune of knowing him in an interpersonal way and from which relationship I drew guidance, confidentiality and courage during every intercourse we had and which were many.
“We are however consoled that it pleased the Almighty God to let him live to the milestone age of 87 and to live that full and robust life in good health that is increasingly difficult to achieve in our day and age.
“May God grant his good soul eternal rest. Amen”, Senator Urhoghide added.
Recall that HRH Prince Edun Agharese Akenzua, joined his ancestors on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the ripe age of 88.
