THE Odionwele of Idumebolo, Ujemen – Ekpoma, Edo State, Sir Matthew Imomio Otaigbe, has returned to his maker, God. He was aged 86.
His son, Victor Ighodalo Otaigbe who confirmed his demise in a statement said, “I am burdened with deep sorrow to formally announce the death of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and husband, Sir Matthew Imomio Otaigbe, the Odionwele of Idumebolo, Ujemen -Ekpoma”.
“His passing on Friday, July 21,at the age of 86 is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of the family.
“We mourn profoundly the death of a cherished patriarch, family man, community leader, and statesman who made a significant impact on everyone who had the opportunity of meeting him. The family lost a wonderful soul and we will never be the same without him in our lives.
“During this period of mourning, we shall be comforted and sustained by the knowledge that our father lived well here on earth and is resting peacefully in the bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Details of the burial arrangements will be announced in due course. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen”.
