A former Esan North East Local Government Chairman and a frontline Edo PDP 2024 Governorship aspirant, Hon John Yakubu has sent a message of solidarity to Edo State teachers as they join their colleagues worldwide to mark the 2024 World’s Teachers Day.
In a statement issued by his media office, Comrade Charles Omonaide, Hon Yakubu expressed his personal gratitude to his teachers for making him what he is today pointing out that teachers reward ought to be earned while on earth and not in heaven.
He said he is aware of the harsh and unfavourable working conditions under which they work and promised to devote more funds to the education sector if elected governor in 2024.
He promised to provide Edo schools more teachers and basic teaching materials and ensure that all students of school age are enrolled in school while also ensuring that teachers undergo regular training and retraining sessions in order for them to impart modern skills to pupils and students of our schools.
He called for their support in electing a teacher friendly Governor as Edo State moves to electing its Chief Servant come 2024.
