A leading aspirant in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Gideon Ikhine, aka Game Changer, has promised to resuscitate the state owned Agbede Farms to achieve food sufficiency in the state.
Ikhine made this known today during his visit to Etsako West, Etsako Central and Etsako East Local government areas in continuation of his visit to leaders and members of his party the APC, to canvass for nomination votes.
The frontline governorship aspirant promised to resuscitate the Agbede Farms by investing heavily on it so that Edo State can become the food basket of Nigeria.
“Anyone that cannot earn income for a living is economically disabled. My government will make the youth to play active role in government including providing them with the rigth platform to rise. When a child is intelligent and has no channel to explore, he or she will engage in negative things.
“If you want APC to win this election, look inwards and know how to go about it. Do not rely on federal might. I am running because I’m the best candidate. Because what you do not work will not work out. Talk is cheap, but you must match it with action. I will defeat all other party’s candidates for the election”.
“I want you to send me. If I send myself, the journey will be hard but if you send me the journey will be smooth and fine. When you send me you can as well call me back to give an account of my stewardship at the appropriate time.
“We have suffered enough. It is risky not to take a risk. I can assure you, Edo State will not depend on federal allocation”, Engr. Ikhine, added.
Ikhine said his heroes in the country are the people in the streets and not elites, adding that whatever the government is doing for them is not a favour but simply its responsibility to ensure they get all the dividends of democracy.
He therefore, appealed to them to nominate him to be the candidate of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
In their various responses, the APC chairmen of Etsako West, Etsako East and Etsako Central, Hon. Abudu Amed, Peter Okoro and Chief Saliu John, respectively stated that they have listened carefully to Engr Ikhine’s presentation which they agreed was clinically delivered.
“We have been intimidated. We need liberation through you. If we have someone like you as governor, the state will be better for it”, they concluded.
