The Edo State Governorship Election Debate organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council in collaboration with the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), and the Nigeria Election Debate Group (NEDG), will hold today.
The debate will take place at the NUJ Press Centre, No. 1, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion Way, GRA, Benin City, beginning at 4pm.
Based on an online poll conducted by the union, the candidates of four political parties have been selected for the debate.
The candidates include Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Barr. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP); Barr. Asue lghodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mrs Patience Ofure Key of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
NTA, AIT, EBS, Silverbird, Super FM, Radio Nigeria, Ray Power FM, Rhythm FM, B.Side FM and several Radio and Television stations affiliated to the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria are expected to relay the debate live.
According to a press statement signed by the Edo NUJ secretary, Comrade Andy Egbon, representatives of political parties and invited guests are expected to be seated at 3.30pm prompt.
