Etose Dickson Imasogie
One of the finest politicians Nigeria has ever produced, Etose Dickson Imasogie, is a selfless politician, one of the greatest farmers in Edo state, a cheerful giver and philanthropist; a political prophet who’s on top of his game. When he speaks, the low and mighty listen in awe. He’s a political mathematician whose predictions and calculations never go amiss. Indeed, Etose Dickson Imasogie is a political Oracle.
In this exclusive interview with our Editor-in-chief, Sir Ralph Okhiria, the founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have never moved an inch from the party since 1998, come rain or sunshine, is highly optimistic that the PDP and its 2024 governorship candidates, Ighodalo/Ogie will reclaim their ‘stolen’ mandate through the legal process sooner than later.
Happy reading.
The Tribunal Case?
Things are going on very well. The lions and the tigers tried all they could assiduously to ensure that they frustrate our efforts not to obtain necessary papers for us to get justice in the tribunal but they have failed badly. Our own objections to the election results declared by INEC are very simple; the INEC, police and other security agencies conspired to rig the Edo Governorship election in favour of the APC (All Progressives Congress) and we have proofs which we’re going to pursue at the election petitions tribunal. So we are on course and we are ever ready for them.
PDP Will Win At The Tribunal?
Yeah, I may not be a soothsayer, but the way they rigged that election was so obvious and they were much in the hurry to cover up their mess to the extent that they did not want it to go to the iRev portal. I will not want to say much here because we are waiting to unfold everything in the tribunal for everyone to see. Just be patient because the truth will be revealed soon.
Expectations?
I’m expecting an overwhelming victory at the tribunal. I have said that before and that is the plain truth because even if you make President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be the sole judge at the tribunal, by the time he sees the evidence against his party, he will not hesitate to give judgement in PDP’s favour. The APC didn’t win the election, rather it was the PDP that won and the INEC results will be reversed and given to the rightful winners.
Now There’s A New Governor In Edo State; He’s Senator Monday Okpebholo?
First, his declaration was followed by so many wrongdoings. We complained about the results to INEC but they didn’t listened to us, they rather rushed to give him the certificate of return. Yes, as long as he’s given that, no other thing can change his been sworn in as the state governor though for a very few months. He’s already sworn in and you’ll observe for the past few days now, we’re already seeing the signs of the tigers and the lions, everyone in the state is already feeling the heat. Although, he’s also acting well, banning this and that. However, the authority will still come, because he’s not the master, Oshiomhole is the master and whatever he tells him, he’ll take. You’re aware that immediately they swore him in, they announced the Chief of Staff; one Iyamu. Today, is he there? No; because the powers that be, told him that isn’t our own and I’m sure that’ was a cousin of Osagie Ize-Iyamu. Don’t you see, there’s fire on the mountain?
Now That Okpebholo Is The Governor Of The State; How Do You Feel?
Normally, 6-9 months isn’t too much, we’ll see what he can do within that time. Either he shines or he disgraces himself alongside his party, because I’m very sure that before 9 months, we’ll get back our mandate.
How Is PDP Doing Presently; Is PDP In Disarray Or United?
First and foremost, there is not party that is stable, we have problems in PDP; APC also has problems. Even to Ondo, you’ll still see problems. Few days to the election, people are moving out of their parties. And you’re aware of the legacy problem here (Edo), but I assure you that we’ve taken the grassroots legacy and it’s just the noisemakers in Abuja that are remaining in legacy group. Can’t you see the results? Even today, they’ll say it’s the behavior of Obaseki that didn’t allow Ighodalo to win, but didn’t Ighodalo win? Ighodalo won.
