Lighthouse University Evbuobanosa, Near Benin City Is A Place To Be – Students

“I’m very happy; in fact, I’m blessed to be one of the students of the Lighthouse University, Evbuobanosa near Benin City”, one of the pioneer students of Lighthouse University told visiting Journalists from Benin City, Edo State.

The visibly elated Aimuamwosa Nosa Joshua, a political science student of the university, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues was full of praises for the school authority for establishing the university which is catering for the educational and moral needs of its students.

According to him, “everything needed for academic excellence is here at Lighthouse University. The learning atmosphere is so serene and conducive. There’s good accommodation with uninterrupted electricity and water supply. Indeed, Lighthouse University is a place to be for students who want to excel academically and with moral rectitude under the tutorship of our excellent lecturers.

“Lighthouse University is a great institution, and I’m highly elated and the feelings are indescribable. I have no excuse whatsoever not to excel with my studies here”, proudly posited by the political science student, Mr. Aimuamwosa Nosa Joshua.

Corroborating the views expressed by Aimuamwosa Nosa Joshua, a female student of the institution, Miss Osayande Chukwudumebi, who’s of the Accounting Department of the Lighthouse University, disclosed that the school is up to date with learning materials, saying that the lecturers are very good.

“I came all the way from Lagos to the Lighthouse University, near Benin City to learn. I deliberately choose Lighthouse University because of its high quality and standard of learning; besides, it’s a university established by a highly recognized revered man of God, our father, Rev. (Dr.) Felix Omobude who ensures that students are well trained in this university so that they can be useful to their immediate families, society and the world at large.

“Above all, the entrepreneurship training skills programmes made available by the authorities of the university are helping us to prepare for future endeavours in creativity and innovations after our graduations through learnings”, Miss Osayande Chukwudumebi, stated.

Speaking earlier at the university’s permanent site at Evbuobanosa Community along the Benin-Agbor Expressway, the Chancellor of Lighthouse University, Rev.(Dr.) Felix Omobude, noted that Lighthouse University is a place for academic excellence and discipline, stressing that “in today’s world, there is no room for mediocrity. Therefore, excellence must be our standard.

“The dream of Lighthouse University is to produce men and women who will not stand before obscure men but before kings and royalty”, noting that the institution must be characterized by godliness, innovation, creativity, and a thirst for growth.

He reassured Nigerians that Lighthouse University which is built on a solid foundation, possesses the necessary capacity — in staff, environment, and facilities to achieve its vision of making the ivory tower a world-class institution.

“We are not here by accident. We have worked, and will continue to work, to build excellence”, assuring that the Lighthouse University has been well positioned to compete amongst not just the best universities in Nigeria but also amongst the best globally.

Acknowledging that growth is a process, he assured of continuous improvement in facilities and academics, and called on the students to be the university’s best ambassadors.

“I therefore, invite all well-meaning individuals, groups, institutions and the three tiers of government to partner with the Lighthouse University which I believe will bring about a positive and permanent transformation to the world”, Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, added.

But showcasing the state of the art facilities and the physical infrastructure available in the Lighthouse University, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Anthony Imianvan, disclosed that so far, the young university has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC), to operate 15 programmes.

The NUC verified programmes include the following: B.Sc. in Accounting, B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Sc. in Information Technology, B.Sc. in Mass Communication, B.Sc. in Microbiology, B.Sc. in Political Science, B.Sc. in Public Administration, B.Sc. in Science Laboratory Technology, B.Sc. in Sociology, B.Sc. in Social Works, B.Sc. in Criminology and Security Studies, B.Sc. in International Relations and Diplomacy, B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, and B.Sc. in Business Administration.

Showcasing the state-of-the-art lecture theatres, e-library, physical library with modern textbooks, microbiology laboratory, physics and science laboratories, chemistry laboratory, machine, and mechanical/ electrical workshops, the male and female student hotels, the clinic and lots more, Prof. Imianvan urged parents and guardians to make Lighthouse University Evbuobanosa as their preferred institution for their children and wards by enrolling them in the institution.

The Lighthouse University’s Vice Chancellor was accompanied during the facility tour by the institution’s senior management staff including the Registrar, Mr.Olugbenga Olajide and the Bursar, Dr. Dominic Eichie.
