The Senator representing Edo South at the Upper Legislative Assembly, Abuja, Senator Matthew Aisagboriodion Urhoghide has disclosed that he joined politics to make a difference in the lives of the people he is representing at the National Assembly.
Senator Pharmacist Urhoghide disclosed this when he visited members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council on Sunday at the conference hall of the union in Benin City.
He disclosed that his impact has been felt in all the wards across the seven local government areas that make up the district.
The Distinguished Senator who is the Senate chairman on Appropriation stated that he was a tool in the hands of the almighty God who he said has continued to propelled him to serve his people with all his power and might.
While calling on the people of Edo South to support and vote for him in Saturday’s election to enable him return to the national assembly to once again represent them and continue to place their needs first before his personal needs, he vowed never to betray their confidence.
Urhoghide who described the NUJ members as partners in progress, thanked them for their support towards realizing his objective of providing dividends of democracy to his constituents.
The Senator popularly referred to as the Promise Keeper, was full of praises to God for granting him the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of the people of Edo South Senatorial District.
He said as a serious politician who is always in constant touch with members of his constituency, he would continue to do his utmost best to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
“I want the good people in Edo South Senatorial
District to send me back to the Senate to once again represent them because I have discovered that even though I have done a lot for them but are still more to be done for their benefit and enjoyment,” Senator Urhoghide said.
Responding, the State NUJ chairman, Sir Roland Osakue who described the Senator as a friend of the media, thanked him for the visit to meet members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm.
The Edo NUJ boss, however called on all and sundry to ensure that the general elections is not only violence free but should also be credible, fair and free to pave the way for only credible candidates to emerge and to occupy political offices in the country.
