Edo 2020: 100 Ize-Iyamus Can’t Defeat Obaseki – Comrade Oregbe

A unionist and human rights activist based in Benin City, Comrade Oregbe Omorodion, recently took a holistic assessment of the contestants in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State and concluded that the incumbent governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki will be victorious in the election.

Speaking in an interview with The RELIANCE in Benin City, the courageous and fearless Comrade, said people of the state want Governor Obaseki and “Governor Obaseki they will get and nothing shall fall short of that.”

According to him, “it’s the people of the state that are going to determine who should be their governor. Outsiders can’t do that for us. Going by what the masses are saying, they will overwhelmingly vote the incumbent governor for a second term.”

“The people are fully ready not only to vote for Obaseki and the PDP but are also prepared to defend their votes, just the way they did it in 2007, when they gave their support to the dethroned former national chairman of the APC, Oshiomhole.”

“Obaseki has all it takes to beat Ize-Iyamu hands down. His performance in the last over three years are highly impressive and the people want continuity in the government of Edo State.”

“Sincerely speaking, with the way things are going presently, if you join over 100 Ize-Iyamus together, they cannot stop Obaseki from  winning the September 19, 2020, gubernatorial election. They are just waiting for the day to come for them to re-elect Governor Obaseki.”

“The bitter truth is that the way God disgracefully removed Adams Oshiomhole from being the national chairman of the APC because of Obaseki, that is the same way God will humble Ize-Iyamu during the election.”

“I hear the APC people are boasting that they will use Federal might to overrun Obaseki and the PDP, but I just laugh because it’s just a mere boast aimed at intimidating people and garnering cheap popularity.”

“But surprise is waiting for them. Federal might has never been useful in Edo State. Let me remind them of 2007, 2012 and 2019. In 2007 and 2012, the Edo people voted overwhelmingly for Oshiomhole and he won, even when PDP was in power at the national level.”

“In 2019, even when APC was controlling both the Federal and State levels, it was PDP that won the presidential election in the state. So, how will the federal might work when the people are fully determined?”

“Edo people have said no to political godfatherism. But surprisingly, Oshiomhole who led us to defeat political godfathers in the past has craftily transformed himself to the position of a godfather and emperor and the people are not only angry but are more than willing to resist him with their last blood,” Comrade Oregbe Omorodion stated.
