EDO TEENAGER INVENTS SOLAR POWER ATM

By Kadiri Christopher

A secondary school boy in Edo state, Osarenoma Osagie, has invented an Automated Teller Machine, ATM, which can accept cash deposit and also dispense cash.

The teenager, who modelled the machine during the 2020 YOUNG TALENT HUNT FESTIVAL organised by the ERA/FoEN in Benin City, said he was inspired by the motivational push done on him by the Executive Director of the ERA/FOEN, Dr Godwin Uyi Ojo.

According to the lanky inventor, “I’m so glad that this opportunity came to me at this time.

“I was wondering why can’t we have a machine which can accept deposit and also dispense cash for withdrawals.

“I also see this machine to be used as domestic safe to keep monies at home. There’s the customized card which the machine will respond to. So, no fear of cash lost.

“I also built aircrafts. All I need now is support. I think Nigeria actually can rule the world if the government gives us the enabling environment to demonstrate our talents”, he said.

Other inventors who displayed their inventions were Gender Inogular,19, from Bayelsa State. He produced a Vanda Cowa cooking device. Aaron Fidelis, 20, from Delta State, produced a solar lamp. Umar Yahaya from Kano State produced energy efficient stoves. Aliyu Musa from Kaduna invented and modelled solar boat and cars.
