Ovia North East Council Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government in Edo State, Hon. Collins Osamede Ogbewe, has felicitated with children of the locality on the occasion of this year’s children’s day.

Stating that “Children are gift from God and should be treated with dignity and respect”, Hon. Ogbewe, who is an ardent lover of children has since demonstrated his passion for their care and rights by ensuring that every child in the local government has access to quality education in a conducive environment.

Hon. Ogbewe, has ensured the delivery of free qualitative education to all children of school age in Ovia North East Local Government Area.

In the demonstration of his unparalleled commitment to the children’s educational wellbeing, the Ovia North-East Local Government boss has continued to partner with Edo State government towards the provision of a secure and conducive teaching and learning environment in all schools within council area.

“Hence we shall continue to pay attention to the welfare of all children and it’s on this note, that I embark on the construction of blocks of classrooms in three different wards within my first hundred days in office. This is specifically so for our children who are the future of this nation.

“I urge parents to take advantage of our administration’s evolution in education by enrolling their children and wards in public schools because there will be no room for violence or child labour in Ovia North East”, he posited.

It will be recalled that the United Nations set aside May 27th of every year to celebrate children and create awareness about the rights of the child.
