Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu, the Emeritus Archbishop of Benin City Archdiocese, on Tuesday transited to the great beyond. He was aged 92.
The death was announced in a statement signed by the Chancellor, Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oyanaofoh,.
He said: ”I am directed by His Grace, Most Rev. Augustine Obiora Akubeze, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City to inform you that Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu, the emeritus Archbishop of Benin City Archdiocese died at the age of 92 after a brief illness.
“The death occured on Tuesday, August 06, 2024 at 7:09pm.
“Details of his funeral arrangements will be made known later.
“Let us put him in our prayers. May he rest in peace and may the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen”
