C of O: We Don’t Have Any Record Of A Boy Who Bought 14 Hectares Of Land – EdoGIS

By Raphael Okhiria

The Edo Geographic Information Systems (Edo GIS), has denied knowledge about a 17-year-old boy, who purportedly bought 14 hectares of land leading to his registration for Certificate of Occupancy being turned down by His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo.

In a press statement by Dr. Tunde Egbiremonlen, the Director Press of
EdoGIS, said its attention was recently drawn to the unfounded claim.

According to him “In the first place, a 17-year-old cannot apply for registration of land in Edo state because that age bracket is assumed to be a minor; the Edo GIS system will automatically reject the application.

“To compound the objective of the rumour-mongers, the peddlers of the story did not explain where in Edo state, such 14 hectares were purchased by the minor.

“After a thorough investigation, we are of the conclusion that the report was deliberately mischievous, fabricated with intent to cause disaffection and intentional criminal because the sponsors went ahead to pay so much money for the fake news to be circulated.

“We hereby call on members of the public to ignore such reports as some persons are bent on achieving their evil agenda of blackmailing the government”, the statement added.
