The University of Benin (UNIBEN), has appointed Dr. Osagie Iguma Uwagboe Osifo, as the new substantive Bursar of the university.
A statement endorsed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, which was made available to newsmen in Benin City, stated that the Governing Council of the university headed by Professor Umaru Shuaibu, approved the appointment after a keenly contested interview.
Osagie Osifo, before his new appointment, was the Bursar of the Edo State University, Uzairue. He is a graduate of Accounting of the University of Benin and a Fellow of the Chartered System Accountant, USA.
Also appointed is Professor Jane Igie Aba as the university librarian.
According to the press statement, Prof. Aba who is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is a professor of library and information science.
Professor Aba was librarian at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, from 2016 to 2021 and, until her appointment, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
The respective appointments are for five years, respectively.
