Edo 2016: APC Governors Plotting The Fall Of PDP

Ahead of the September 10, 2016, governorship election in Edo State, the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are strategizing on how best to defeat their arch-rival, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Penultimate week, some governors of the APC visited their counterpart in Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to dialogue on ways to ensure that the APC’s candidate in the governorship election is victorious.
Edo State as the only APC in the South-South Geo-political zone made up of six states, has recently become a political battle ground for the PDP which is in opposition to the ruling APC.
Among governors who attended the crucial meeting were governor of Osun State (Rauf Aregbesola), Sokoto State (Aminu Tambuwal) and Plateau State (Lalung Simon).
The Reliance gathered that the crucial meeting which lasted throughout Wednesday night, was also to smoothen perceived roughs edge between Governor Oshiomhole and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu over their present political differences’.
They also brainstormed on the upcoming party primary scheduled to hold in Benin City on June 18, 2016 and resolved that there was need for all parties to remain together in unity so as to be able to face their opponents in the PDP.
It would be recalled that PDP governors in the South-South had recently met in Asaba, Delta State, where they vowed to work towards winning Edo State for PDP to make the region PDP states.
