…Calls For Justice

By Stanley Osas

The families of late Osarobo Ogiemudia and Albert Omoruyi have accused the Edo state police command for allegedly abandoning the murder case against the All Progressive Congress (APC) thugs allegedly hired by the party to attack opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members who protested against the released result of Esan North East local government election which led to the death of their sons.
The late Osarobo Ogiemudia and Albert Omoruyi who hails from Uromi in Esan North East local government council of Edo State were among the PDP members protesting the results released by Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) declaring APC candidate Sam Oboh winner In the October 22rd, 2013 Esan North East local government elections.
The spokes man for the bereaved families who spoke with journalists said since the killing of their sons on October 23rd 2013, a day after the election, the police have not done enough to arrest the killers as those arrested in connection with the murder case have been released and the families of Osarobo and Albert have refused to bury their sons as their bodies still lies in the mortuary awaiting justice.
“The police are not doing enough to give us justice as these political thugs who killed Osarobo and Albert are still walking freely.
But the families of Osarobo and Albert has continued to accuse one Mr. Uwadie Monday Blessing who organized the protest on that faithful day (October 23rd, 2013) as the cause of the death of their children who went with him to the protest as he escaped assassination.
Jacob said according to information, the family got that Mr. Uwadiae Monday Blessing was an undercover PDP member hired by EDSIEC as Ad-hoc staff and he exposed all the alleged secret arrangements made in a hotel to ensure that APC win in the election.
“He said the Ad-hoc staff were taken to a hotel where already written results were handed over to them with a warning never to reveal what transpired. Blessing defiled all the threat and exposed APC during the protest by displaying the fake and authentic results before journalists for the world to see”.
Jacob alleged that this is what led to the attack by the political thugs who in an attempt to kill Uwadiae Monday Blessing killed their sons Osarobo and Albert but Blessing narrowly escaped the attack.
“We, the families of the dead see the action of the police been biased as they are dancing to the tune of money from the ruling party as a family we don’t have money to spend. God will fight for us”, they said.
Attempt made to speak to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) proved abortive as he was said to be out of the state on official assignment.
