Those that are addicted to the continuous disrespect of the Rule of Law and the violation of the constitution of Nigeria will definitely blame their stupidity at a particular point in time.
The office of the Nigeria Senate President is not zoned to any political party, or an individual.The Senate President according to the laws of Nigeria is elected by majority of the elected Senators irrespective of the political party.
The removal of the President of the Senate or the Deputy can only be by 2/3 of the total number of Senators.In Nigeria, the law is explicit that the Senate President or the Deputy can only be removed by 72 out of the 109 Senators.
The excitement of Adams Oshiomhole in reciting that the crown of the Senate President is for APC, and that it should be returned by Senator Bukola Saraki to APC is another example of the empty rhetorics and his continuous addiction to the violation of the laws and the Constitution of Nigeria.It is a pity that some distinguished Senators of the federal republic of Nigeria will stand behind Adams Oshiomhole to advance such disdain and irresponsible arguement that Senator Bukola Saraki should step down from the president of Senate because he has defected to the PDP.
Adams Oshiomhole became the governor of Edo state by the verdict of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria.He was rescued by the Supreme Court in his unexplained circumstances of his primary six school leaving certificate, yet, he has always demonstrated arrogance and disrespect for the laws of the country.It may be important to ask Adams Oshiomhole and his league of hypocrites and violators of Nigeria laws the following questions:
1.Was Senator(Dr) Bukola Saraki not a serving Senator elected on the platform of PDP when he defected into the APC in 2014? Was he not warmly received by Buhari and APC leaders? Did he not complete his tenure in the Senate before he was re-elected on the platform of APC in 2015?
2.Was His Excellency, (Hon) Aminu Tambuwal not the Speaker of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of PDP when he defected to the APC in 2014? Did the Hon Speaker Tambuwal returned the crown of the Speaker to the PDP before he completed his tenure in 2015? Did Buhari and APC leaders celebrated or rejected the defection of Tambuwal to APC?
It is not for Adams Oshiomhole or president Buhari to decree who should be the president of the Senate of Nigeria.The elected Senators should exercise sense of decency and act according to the laws of Nigeria.Those that are disatisfied with the defection of Senator Saraki from APC to PDP should seek redress in the court or seek 2/3 of the senate to remove him as the Senate president.
I expect sincere answers to the questions raised above from Adams Oshiomhole and those that are advancing ridiculous arguements to justify their shameless lawlessness. Democracy and the Rule of Law will ultimately triumph.The reckless and authoritarian government of Nigeria will be defeated by the grace of God and the collective will of Nigerians.
