OGBANEKI: ODIONWERE DENIES FORMER CDA CHAIRMAN’S ALLEGATION

Odionwere of Ogbaneki, Monday Aghaleleghian Uwudia in Oredo Local Government Council Area, Edo State has described the allegation against him by the former Community Development Association Chairman, Mr. Victor Eredia led group as frivolous and falsehood.

In the alleged petition signed by Jimoh Obasohan, Kingsley Iredia, Thomas Obasohan, and Isaac Edobor, amongst other 13 persons, had expresesed concern that conduct of the Odionwere is not healthy for the well-being of the village and her people hence the Oba’s intervention is pleaded.
But the Odionwere in his reaction, said the allegation against him is highly frivolous, false, and an attempt to blackmail him before the Monarch for selfish interest.
Odionwere Uwudia pointed out that it was a design for Victor to hide away from his numerous sins for which he fear he will soon be brought to book.
In an enlarged village meeting where a vote of confidence was reposed on the the Odionwere by the people, Victor’s alleged sins were enumerated.
It was allleged that while he was Chairman of the banned CDA, he demolished the village ancestral Oguedion (Ancestors’ sanctuary), relocated it, and sold the site to a renowned Church in Nigeria (name witheld).
Also, the former CDA Chairman was alleged to have sold the Monarch’s 10 plots of land situated in the village to unsuspecting buyers.
Victor’s alleged other acts include: demolition of the Cassava mill factory for the women established under the Better Life program of Mrs. Maryam Babaginda, and took home its power plant for personal use.
After which he sold the site to an unsuspecting developer;
The demolition of the building that served as the village town hall under the pretence that he was going to build a modern one but he never did.
He therefore called on the Benin Monarch to discountenance the alleged petition against him, saying that it is frivolous.
