Family members, friends and close associates in government led by five priests of the Catholic faith gathered in the GRA residence of Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu in an early morning dew prayer. It was in supplication to God for his life at 49.
The Deputy Governor had said this year’s birthday will be low key given the mood of the state. Edo State is mourning one of its illustrious sons and an elder statesman, Chief Anthony Anenih who passed on to glory in recently.
They prayed and prayed giving thanks for his life, asking for more years in sound mind and body for the amiable Deputy Governor.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Kabiru Adjoto has extolled the Sterling qualities of the state deputy governor, Rt. Hon comrade Philip Shuaibu as he clocked 49 describing him as a dependable, focused, versatile, proactive and a man with the repository of knowledge who has contributed immensely towards the socio economic and political development of Edo state.
The speaker in a statement in Benin City, said Rt Hon comrade Philip Shuaibu remains the nexus of strengthening the cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arm since the inception of the present administration in Edo state.
Rt. Hon Adjoto congratulated the state deputy governor for using the instruments of government to improve the quality of life of his people, citing his robust contributions in the state House of assembly, federal house of representatives and series of constituency projects which endeared him to the people.
He said at 49 the deputy governor has carved a niche for himself as a technocrat, political gladiator, leader per excellence, distinguished lawmaker, and worthy ambassador of sports development.
Rt. Hon Adjoto prayed God to continue to imbue the state deputy governor with good health, wisdom, courage, knowledge and foresight to continue to render unblemished service to God and humanity.
The speaker, on behalf of other distinguished members of the house wish the deputy governor more years of fulfillment.
