Careful observation it is ignorantly believed that the Bible was written to undermine the religion of the good people of the Edo nation by the pentecostals. The Edo nation is a blessed people. Take a proper reading of leviticus you will understand that all the traditional rituals and laws of the Edo people are talked about in that verse of the Bible. Edo Nation people forbids having sexual intercourse with one’s half sister, mother, sister, daughter, father’s wife etc. In most tribes the world over, the above are common practice. The Edo Nation are people carefully created by God. Before the advent of modern technology, the Edo Nation performed wonders. The Benin City moat is a great example. The administrative arrangement of the Oba Palace calls for high respect. However, the Edo people should retrace their step and come back to their religion for our ancestors, have abandoned us for abandoning our root. Great thanks to our Saviour Oba Ewuare II the great who God sent at this last hour to rescue us. He has started reforming the lost Edo culture, religion and tradition. The Edo traditional marriage is much better than the white garment wedding but our people abandoned ours and run after imported values. I have travelled nearly all the state in Nigeria but I have not seen any tribe that is hospitable like Edo people.
It is only Edo Nation that things that are not accommodated by other tribe happens. I need not to mention them but note this it happens that a none Bini person have his/her name on the street just because he was the first to build on the street.
The second city where you can get such thing happen is Eko (lagos) which is an extension of Edo Nation.
I repeat no other towns, cities or villages you can find a Bini person’s name on a street. It is only in Edo Nation where you see a none native been a chairman of a mixed group like Union, Trade Union, Motor Parks etc. I am not trying to be tribalistic, but a spade must be a spade. It is an adage that who owns a packer could not protect it anybody could use it to park rubbish. Any tree that losses it taproot will lose its leaves.
What we are experiencing today is like a son or child who abandoned his father and chose other person as his father. We have chosen other practice as our value hence Osanobua have turned back at us. It is time for us to have a rethink and modernize our value. Those area that is regarded as primitive should be refined to blend with modern-reality.
We are supposed to use our education to refine and develop our value so that our ancestors will be happy with us. Because of the above referred chapter of the Bible the modern day Christians regard the Edo Nation as idol worshippers. No, we don’t worship idol but one of the 7,500 religions in the world. Bear in mind that no religion worshippers goes direct to God almighty. Olokun is an intermediary between man and God almighty and Jesus is also intermediary between Christians and God. Religions are man made. Man created religion for their spiritual and selfish interest. They took advantage of the spiritual backwardness of the people to exploit them. Look at Christianity today the congregation leader arrogate to themselves prefix IIMAN .OF GOD” so that they will be feared and honoured. At the end get themselves to be over rich. Who is not a man of God? Who is not created by God? Everything done or practice by the Edo people are termed fetish. Why? The Edo people highly know and respect God than any other race. The Bible is not a perfect book as you know there is no perfection in man. The Bible was written by 40 wise men over a period of 1500 years that was why Revelation 22:18-20 was inserted. If you believe the Bible and close your eye to those verses the gate of hell is open for you.
The Christians claimed that Christianity is the only road to see God and the largest religion on earth. That is a big fallacy. China with a population of over a billion along side with Indian doesn’t know anything about Christianity (Jesus) they have their own religion. Germany, Japan, Tibet etc don’t practice Christianity. The President of these countries doesn’t worship in church but their own religion and is no news. But in Nigeria when President or Governor worships in a traditional home it becomes headline news. Shame!
