Buhari is continuously strugglling to be identified as mr “Integrity”.His struggle for this identity is by words, not by action.Integrity is not synonymous with infallibility. It is defined by embrace of the basic principles of humanity, humility to admit mistakes and acceptance of the limitations of human ability.
Majority of Nigerians know that the Integrity of president Buhari is a slogan of the APC, not the character of the president of Nigeria.Talks about whether president Buhari is a man of Integrity or not ought to have been laid to a permanent rest because Nigerians are already aware that president Buhari has not demonstrated conducts that will qualify for the classification of Integrity. The question is recurring because of the mindless abuse of the word by those that are pretending to be admirers or supporters of Buhari and the regular conducts of president Buhari that are completely in variance with the definition and understanding the essence of Integrity.
How do you relate the “Integrity” of president Buhari to the avoidance of the 2019 presidential debate?Though, presidential debate is recent to the politics of Nigeria, it was embraced because of its potentials to improve the political culture of Nigeria.Integrity in this sense would have been identified if there was communication ahead of time to the organizers,to explain why it will not be convenient to attend on that particular date, time or not convenient to attend at all.Any story or defence after the scheduled debate do not suggest a responsible character or a man of Integrity.
The hypocrites of Buhari expectedly are still hanging on the phoney integrity of the president ,blaming Atiku Abubakar for excusing himself from continuing with the debate when it is obvious that president Buhari was not going to participate.Presidential debate is a major aspect of campaigns in the presidential election in USA.It is usually organised for the ruling party candidate and the major opposition candidate. The presidential candidates of the other political parties have right to be heared, but it is obvious to all that the 2019 presidential election is between Atiku and Buhari. It was for this reason that Atiku Abubakar reminded the audience that the execise was a presidential debate not a candidacy debate.
To suggest that Atiku Abubakar ought to have gone ahead with the debate without Buhari is to trivialise the main objectives of the presidential debate. The former vice president of Nigeria respectfully apologised to all Nigerians and explained clearly why it was unnecessary to proceed with the debate without the president. He challenged president Buhari to another debate at any time and place that is convenient for the president.Mr “Integrity” needed the platform more than any other presidential candidate to sell his story of “integrity” and show Nigerians his numerous achievements that can only be seen by APC and Buhari impostors.
Buhari has refused to accept the basic principles of humanity. If he does, he ought to have apologised to Nigerians that he failed to fulfil his empty promises in the 2015 presidential election campaigns.Where is integrity without basic principles of humanity?Buhari has no hummility to admit his mistakes, rather he blame all his failures on the past 16 years of PDP administration, including his reference to Great Ogboru as the presidential candidate of APC.Buhari cannot accept the limitations of his ability, if he does he will not allow Adams Oshiomhole and the desperate APC cabals to turn him into a ridiculous political pawn.
Where is Integrity? It is only amusing,a nick-name and a comedy when desperate hypocrites still refere to president Buhari as mr “Integrity”.
