Crisis Brews In Catholic Church Over Alleged Acts Of Homosexuality

A branch of the Catholic Church located at Udo town, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo state, has launched an investigation into the alleged issue of homosexuality which has thrown the local church into serious scandal.
Investigations revealed that two Menservants, James Odia and Philip Osahon are the architects of the problem currently bedeviling not only the church (St. Peters) but the local community.
It was learnt that the duo, James and Philip who were manservants in St. Francis Catholic Church, Benin City were transferred with Rev. Fr. Job Ekabo to St. Peters in Udo Town in May, 2018.
Thus Fr. Job Ekabo was transferred to St. Peters Udo and the two said manservants followed him to his new parish at Udo Community.
But on March 7, 2019, the aforementioned two manservants were caught in the act of homosexuality within the Parish house.
This was not be as it was viewed as a grievous evil in the sight of God by the church while the local community regarded the alleged sexual act as an abomination and sacrilege before their deities.
Consequently, the two church boys were severely beaten and injured by the community youths who wanted to seriously bleed them in order to use their blood as appeasement to their gods for the sacrilege they committed.
But the boys were said to have further surprised their tormentors and Parishioners when they allegedly confessed that they were not the only ones involved in the shameful act, alleging that there were other Catholic church boys involved in the abominable act.
They claimed that manservants like John Abu, David Obah at St. Francis Catholic church were also guilty of same offence.
A Parishioner who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said the church leadership had since set up a panel of investigation to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the unwholesome attitudes of the manservants.
“The church, especially the leaders are not happy that a serious sexual sin was being committed by the boys within the walls of the Parishes.
“Presently, all names mentioned will be seriously investigated and all those found wanting will be seriously dealt with and expelled from the church,” the source added.
Rev. Fr. Job Ekabo could not be reached for his reaction, but a source close to his office, confirmed the incident.
