There has been a wide divided opinions amidst celebration recently as the President Mohammadu Buhari-led Federal Government reconstituted the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The reconstitution of the commission landed the immediate past deputy governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr Pius Egberanmwen Odubu, the Chairmanship position.
The appointment of Dr. Odubu has further increased the tension between the supporters of both APC national Chairman and his embattled political son, the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
With Odubu as the NDDC boss and the appointment of Hon Victor Ekhator as NDDC Edo State Commissioner, some persons have come to the conclusion that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is actually trying every means to exhaust every opportunity by fixing Edo indigenes in recommendable positions at the federal level.
Recently, during the ministerial appointment, a loyalist to the former governor of Edo State was appointed a junior minister. Mr Clem Agba who was the Commissioner for Environment during the Comrade Oshiomhole’s administration in Edo State, got the slot which served as a shocker to the Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.
It is also noted that all embattled Edo APC members who aligned with Comrade Oshiomhole are getting federal nods. Comrade Osakpanmwan Eriyo, alias Nomoless, former Edo APC Youth leader has gotten the Chairmanship position of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
A comedian who is also with the Abuja big man, Mr Eronmosele whose stage name is PIKOLO, has been in China for days now for the Global Youth Impact for Positive Development.
Shortly after the appointment of the duo of Odubu and Ekhator, Hon. Victor Eboigbe and Donald Obasuki were also appointed National Commissioner of Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission and Member of the North East Development Commission (Representing South South Zone), respectively.
The big question is, why is the state Governor not getting his loyalist fixed on these federal offices?
Responses from Edo people have been so divided on the issue of the appointment galore.
