HOW GUNMEN KIDNAPPED A FEMALE JUDGE, KILLED POLICEMEN IN EDO

Heavily Armed Gunmen Numbering About Four In A Commando Style Operation On Wednesday Morning Abducted An Appeal Court Judge, Justice (Mrs.) Nwosu Iheme.
A police Inspector, Mr. A. I. Momoh, the orderly who accompanied the judge end route Benin Agbor road to Owerri, the Imo State Capital was shot dead by the hoodlums who whisked Justice Iheme away to an unknown destination.
It was gathered that the gunmen had trailed their victim from Ramat Park end of the Benin-Agbor road in their Voltron car and intercepted her black Spot Utility Vehicle (SUV) after the bad spot, near Christ Chosen Church of God International headquarters, in Benin City.
A witness who craved anonymity, said that immediately after intercepting the judge, the hoodlums shot the tyre of Toyota SUV the female judge was traveling in, thus forcing it to a halt.
The source explained that the gunmen also opened fire on the police orderly, killing him on the spot, before hurriedly whisking away the female judge to unknown destination in their car.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.
According to him, “The incident occurred today (Wednesday) at about 11.30 a.m, along Benin-Agbor Expressway, by Christ Chosen Church of God International.
“The victim, Justice Chioma Nwosu was attacked, while the police orderly attached to her, Inspector A. I. Momoh, was murdered and the driver of the vehicle severely injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“Immediately, the police operatives of Ikpoba Hill divisional police headquarters, the tactical team of Edo state command and other relevant sections swung into action, but unfortunately, they got away with it.
“Investigation is on going and by the grace of God, Justice ChiomaNwosu will be rescued unhurt.”
But a staff of the court who craved for anonymity, described the Judge as a good woman.
“She was kidnapped on her way to Owerri in imo State where her husband lives today (Wednesday) at about 12pm.
“The judge was kidnapped at the bad spot after Christ Chosen church of God international headquarters on Benin Agbor road. Suddenly a vehicle from no where blocked the judge vehicle.
“So, her driver attempted to meander through the narrow part of the road, that was how they rained bullets on the tire of the vehicle and in the process, the police orderly who sat in from was shot in his eyes by the kidnapers and Justice NwosuIheme was taken away by the gunmen.
“She normally travel to Owerri to see her husband every Friday after court sitting and return back on Sunday. But, she decided to travel today (Wednesday) because there will be no sitting on Thursday, she decided to travel today when the unfortunate incident occurred.
“Her police orderly is dead. He is a police inspector from Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State”, the source added.
