The RELIANCE Chapel Of Edo NUJ Elects New Exco

The Reliance Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, has held its election
with Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion, emerging as the new chairman.

The keenly contested election which was held at the new conference room of the council, also saw the emergence of Comrades Stanley Igunbor, Vice Charman, Alabi Saviour, Secretary, Happiness Ilusota, Treasure and Blessing Ebifagha, Assistant Secretary.

Whereas three members contested for the chairmanship position of the chapel, other offices were returned unopposed.

The elected members of The RELIANCE chapel later took their oath of office, administered on them by the chairman of the NUJ, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe.

In his remark, Comrade Festus Alenkhe advised the newly elected officers to strictly adhere to the Constitution of the union when discharging their duties.

He also urged them to be ready at all times to project, protect the interests and integrity of the union by their actions.

Earlier, Publisher of The RELIANCE Newspaper and former chairman of the Edo NUJ, Sir Ralph Okhiria, expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the election was conducted.

Sir Ralph Okhiria who described the election as a “no victor or vanquish’, said the new leadership of the chapel was chosen democratically after a very heated electioneering campaign exercise.

He congratulated the new executive members and admonished them to run the affairs of the chapel with the fear of God.
