NDDC BOARD: ODUBU TRIUMPH AGAIN

Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu, the immediate past deputy governor of Edo state, has triumphed again over detractors who wanted him dropped as Board chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
His nomination by President MuhammaduBuhari was on Tuesday confirmed by the Senate after a smooth screening exercise in which he was asked to take the traditional bow and go in honor of the great Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II. The House of Representatives had earlier cleared for the position.
Dr. Pius Odubu was confirmed alongside other 14 nominees. He is now waiting to be sworn-in by President MuhammaduBuhari or his representative.
The final confirmation of Dr. Odubu by Senate, has elicited jubilation across the Niger Delta region, especially in Edo state, where he is widely supported for his competence, personal integrity and desire to leave a mark.
But the former Edo Deputy Governor, in a previous chat with newsmen in Benin City, had promised to set an example for future successors in the commission through inspirational leadership, provision of infrastructure and development, and transparent operation.
