The Leadership and entire members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council have congratulated the immediate past deputy governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Pius Egberamwen Odubu on appointment as Chairman of the board of Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Union also commended President Mohammadu Buhari for deeming it fit to appoint an Edo Son as Chairman of NDDC. This is the first time ever an indigene of the State will be appointed into such a laudable position and we say, thank you Mr. President.
The NUJ in a statement signed by the Chairman, Roland Osakue and
Secretary, Comrade Titus Akhigbe noted that the appointment of Odubu was a clear indication that Mr. President must have been impressed by his achievements as Deputy Governor under the then government of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and his massive contributions to the re-election of the President.
The Union, however urged the former deputy Governor to see the appointment as a call to national Service and he should use the position to attract development to Edo and other Niger-Delta States.
The Council also urged Odubu and his team to continue with their
selfless service to human development and also work hand to hand with Mr. President to stop the current insecurity in Nigeria. Be rest assured that Edo NUJ will partner with you and your team to deliver the goods.
